About
Our History and Vision
God has blessed our church family with a heritage of serving the San Clemente area and surrounding communities that spans over several decades. Built on a solid foundation of proclaiming and reaching God’s Word, our history began as a small group of believers gathering on the north side of San Clemente who came to be know as San Clemente Evangelical Free Church. Since its beginnings in 1975, reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ has always been our heartbeat. With an unwavering commitment of God’s word and the steadfast Bible teaching or our pastors, what began as a small mission church is now striving to become the inspirational driving force in Talega.
Leading as God blessed, our vital congregation sought a pastor who would lay the foundation to lead San Clemente Evangelical Free Church into greater years. And in 2003, Pondo Vleisides, a pastor and life-long native of San Clemente, answered God’s calling to head our church into the future. While maintaining a unique spirit of love and unity, along with solid, uncompromising Bible teaching, Pastor Pondo’s commitment and vision has enabled our congregation to grow and consequently move from its former location in Capistrano Beach to our current calle Negocio campus. Today, that same spirit of harmony and oneness in Christ continues as Pastor Pondo and Pastor Dan Moncton faithfully feed and shepherd this flock which has come to be known as Talega Life Church.
From the youngest child to a global strategy, we’re a church on the move with a vision for Jesus Christ. Our vision is to lead all people into a personal relationship with the Lord and build strong, Christ-centered families . . .strengthening our home church. But that’s only the beginning . God has given our church an expanded vision. With a strong emphasis on spiritual awakening and revival, Talega Life Church is praying and working towards calling the faithful to worship.
Yes, Talega Life Church has a rich history and an even brighter hope for tomorrow . . . reaching the Talega and surrounding communities for Jesus . . . one heart at a time . . .one family at a time.
